Which laptops have the best built in speakers?

Obviously built in laptop speakers are generally poor, but some are much poorer than others.

I have been told that the speakers on my Toshiba M70 are very good (mostly by mac users) but I was wondering if there's a known hierarchy of 'almost-satisfactory' to 'utterly deplorable' in the laptop speaker universe.

Please note this is about laptop speakers that are built into the laptop, not external speakers which are plugged in.

Most multimedia units will have some better quality audio hardware.I have an older Toshiba that came with JBL's. Another brand is Altec Lansing speakers on
my son's Asus. Saw AR (Acoustic Research) on a Panasonic laptop at one of the computer shows.
Don't argue with THEM, get EVEN!! ;) :D

No, I do NOT have any Z10's or Z30's left for sale. Stop PM'ing me!

Macbook Pro's have a little sub and two speakers lol - I mean the sub will be tiny but the sound quality seems superb.

But don't fork out the extra $$$ just because of that.

What? Users now want laptops that can double as getto blasters? I can see trouble brewing at Starbucks as users crank up the volume on their laptops.

I honestly thought you were joking. Then I looked it up. Then I tried it out to see what they sound like. They don't sound awful, but certainly not a subwoofer.

Nah I'm not buying a computer, and honestly quality of speakers in a laptop is the last thing I'd consider when making a purchase (probably wouldn't even think about it at all).

This thread is just the result of my idle curiosity... :)

My HP DV5 has Altec Lansing. Pretty good for built in laptop speakers.

my vaio ns series has fairly good speakers. It goes louder enough to clearly hear music more than other laptops.

I tried hp dv9000 with altec lansing. It was more bassy....Too much bass and not clear in the mids or highs at all. Not as loud as my sony.

My T400's speakers sound pretty good to me. Not really a lot of bass, but otherwise nice.
