large evap leak Nissan Sentra 2001
I have a large evap leak in my Nissan Sentra 2001; I have got the code reset twice but came back in 5 days. I have replaced my gas cap still no luck. My mechanic looked at it first and found nothing obvious. later when it came back on again he told me to go to dealer, is there any other place which can check for leak with a smoke machine rather than Nissan dealer. If I reset the code, will it still fail emission?
. Is there any place near scarborough area where I can get it fixed.

My father-in-law had the same issue with his Sentra. I think he had to change a part of the fuel line that regulates the amount of fuel that goes into the tank. At one time, this unit became faulty and did not allow him to put gas in the car. he had to pump it slowly and took hime about 20 minutes to fill up the car. Another reason to stay away from Nissan.

I think those machines are either quite expensive, or are otherwise such that only a dealership is likely to have them.
You could try looking behind the rear wheel on the gas filler side and if you can access any of the clamps, check for tightness, and look for any signs of fraying tubes, etc.
