Very good question!
I was wondering myself yesterday._______________
Would you be willing to pay $58 more for an iPod produced in North America?
My Answer: NO. I get the same Ipod with the same functionality...where is the the benefit to me? As, I've said before, I will get more out of my $58 dollars by lighting it on fire, because it will produce heat. If I wipe my a$$ with that $58 dollars, I will need to buy less toilet paper. IF I buy the made in North America Ipod for $58 more, I get absolutely nothing more out of it.

Private wine stores like the Wine Rack will also still be open. Plus local wineries and breweries.
Still lots of ways to get loaded, don't worry!!

It will depend on if they have already bought their booze if the strike happens. Lots of parents and bride and grooms buying for weddings, etc. in the last couple of days in case of a strike. They even showed and interviewed several of them on the news. One Dad was shocked at the empty shelves and was off to several other stores trying to get the wine/liquor allotment for the wedding in 3 weeks time.

Any chance that they would suspend duties/fees for importing liquor from the USA during an LCBO strike????

Interesting proposition. On one hand, the government would be cutting itself off from a rich source of tax revenue. But then again, this might put pressure on the LCBO union to hurry up and get things in gear because they would be getting less pressure from the public on re-opening, and the government would be saving on the wages of LCBO employees anyway. I don't know the numbers behind this equation so I can't predict whether or not it's a smart move.
Let me reiterate from another one of my posts:
- The Beer Store will still be open
- The Wine Rack will still be open
- The "brew your own beer" and "make your own wine" stores will be ready and waiting, I am drinking my own wine right now
- The winery company stores and beer brewery company stores themselves will still be open_______________

I predict a lot of looting of liquor stores. Sitting there all day with no staff, full of sweet alcoholic nectar, just begging to be consumed........
