Hopefully he is being signed to $1 million or less, otherwise the move doesn't make sense, getting rid of Bernier for nothing and than getting a player less than him statistically or about the same.
Enroth is a back-up and a reliable one. He knows his role and will do his job.

I can't say the same for Bernier especially in Toronto he would still have aspirations of being #1 and he failed when given the opportunity. Bernier is also a 4mil cap hit. That would be 9 mil for two goalies. Even Enroth at 1 mil or 1.5 mil, thats significantly less.

ya...4 mil is too much for a backup. I'm just happy the leafs were able to l get rid of him even if the return is little.

Same. Matthews and Reilly are on that team. Hopefully they both perform well.

Why is Matthews blocking a shot in a pre-tournament game? :|

Auston Matthews avoids serious injury in ‘wake-up call’ loss
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/world-cu ... oss-czech/
Matthews had a hard shot go off his right foot during the first period of Wednesday’s 3-2 loss to the Czech Republic. He immediately left the ice, but remained in the game.

“It stings, but I don’t think it’s anything too serious,” he said afterwards. “It’s just one of those things – when you block a shot it’s going to sting. For all I know it’s fine.”

Just have to say, Leafs players at the World Cup are looking pretty damn good. Matthews looking really good, but man Rielly is looking seriously good and Zaitzev on the Russian team has played very well too and is looking like he's a lock for top four on the Leafs if not top pairing with Rielly. Can't wait to see all these guys along with our other young guys start playing this season. Haven't been this excited for hockey season in a long while. Smiling Face With Open Mouth
Toronto sports teams..............forever cursed. Profound sadness. :(

It has been fun watching them. Too bad NAU23 couldn't have beat Russia though.
