Leafs Talk: Painful...but proud of the team of youngsters

I don't think anyone really cares about this anymore, including me. Neither of us can really claim to fully understand the cap. This is all not that important to our main disagreement on why teams don't use offer sheets all that much.

I really don't think that teams would always match offer sheets if they were used more often. In the NBA, offer sheets are far more common, and teams decline to match them all the time. I am not even a basketball fan and I can name two players that changed teams due to offer sheets just this summer. In the NBA, teams don't even get compensation for letting a RFA go, and they have a soft cap, so you would think it would be more likely for NBA teams to match every offer than in the NHL.

In the NHL, teams can only afford to match pretty much any offer that isn't crazy because of this apparent agreement to almost never use offer sheets. If GMs had to deal with more than one offer sheet in their entire career as a GM, they would have to consider them as they would any other contract.

in general, couverites are just pissed off they've been only the brides maids and never bride.

Coliacivo has been playing a lot more games since he went to St. Louis. He seemed to do a complete 180 as soon as he left Toronto.
