LED bulb vs integrated lights

I'm building a house in Alberta and am picking out light fixtures. There are a lot of new fixtures with integrated LED lights built in. They look nice and are cheap right now with our provincial rebate.

Question. Anyone else worry about the light needs replacing when the LED dies? In the long run, is buying a LED bulb in a regular fixture easier?

LEDs are supposed to have a VERY LONG life span. However, that doesn't mean that the workmanship will fail in a few years causing you to have to replace something associated with the fixture itself (but the LED itself didn't fail).

The regular bulb connection has been around for YEARS and I don't see it going away anytime soon so you would be better off in the real long run going that route (and it will open up options later for the technology after LED).

I personally like the integrated fixture. It costs more as the entire fixture has to be replaced. But I think it will outlast LED bulbs.
