Uninformed employee. If you have the receipt, and you are within the refund period, they should allow the refund.

However, the store in my area (Richmond BC) won't allow returns on LEGO (even for store credit) without the receipt. They claim that LEGO is a high-theft item. Not sure if it's just this store, or a TRU policy.
If you order online and pick up in-store, they usually don't give a refund.

I think there should be the email to confirm the order and confirm the order is ready for pick up? Plus when the order is picked up, there is a receipt of pick up. I used those two documents to return my Lego no problem.

Yep, they give a receipt when you pick up an order. The first time I used this method I thought the receipt was just a piece of paper confirming what I ordered and the pick-up order e-mail the actual receipt.
Took a while to get my refund (I had to e-mail customer service, print the e-mail of the conversion and show them to get my refund).

Now I never toss that paper, lesson learned!

This is what I am currently doing with my LEGO, quite sad.

Brickset don't have an ebay listing for this on the right but they do have some underneath....and just have a look on ebay.

Basically the price it's selling for and the price you are willing to pay is pretty much core to your question.

Here's what it's been selling for in the past 6 months on 'the Link.

I'd say $350 and you are doing OK, $370 is average and $400 you are overpaying.

That's just my read.
Dang! Didn't realize they go for that much. Wife would kill me if I sold mine mainly cause it was a gift too :P

Man, I should buy multiple copies of all the Star Wars UCS sets.
They all seem to do well in the aftermarket, except probably HOTH.

I bought 10227 (B-Wing Starfighter) when it was on sale for 150$ (not sure if I used VIP points) and I see the average selling price on Brinklink is 535.19 for a BNIB.
Really mad I never bought the Super Star Destroyer, I really wanted that set now the price is ridiculous...
DUDE! I'm in the same boat as you about the SSD! Also the Imperial Shuttle, the BIG one (10212) . I'm still kicking myself for not picking it up before. That and Falling Water too :(
I only have 5 or so sizeable built sets and my wife is complaining about the space too :P

Haha, I got the Imperial Shuttle and it is indeed big. I bought it used on eBay before it was sold out.

edit: actually found some pics of the shuttle and another UCS.

Found an item of interest: Creator Blue Power Jet (http://www.thebay.com/webapp/wcs/stores ... 099945--24). It is 50% off.

But you need over $100 to get free shipping. I just filled the order up over $100 and plan to return the other items and keep this clearance one. Don't forget to use eBates as it is 5% right now.
Nice find, too bad I already bought it!

Where is Toys R Us flyer!?!?

Canadian Tire is really weird.
I went to one of the stores near my workplace because it had some discontinued sets on sale.
I checked all the LEGO aisles and couldn't find them anywhere, even if there were 5+ of each set.
I look into the computer at the store to find the proper aisle thinking that maybe it was placed somewhere else in the store.
Nope, the computer just says there is "x" amount left and to contact someone on the floor to locate the item for me.

I really don't understand that store...

Lego is a seasonal item, according to multiple stores in my area. Don't bother, they are clueless.

They indeed seem to be clueless.
I ordered 7 sets across 2 stores and only 3 seems to be in stock. 4 got canceled.

No TRU flyer this week? =(
Only 6 days left for those 10$ off 50$ coupons!

Don't even get me started on Canadian Tire
I was looking for clear license plate covers, found the aisle but nothing on the rack despite the site saying 10 in stock. Rang the "need help" button, no one showed up, couldn't even find any employees at all
I just ended up putting an order for ISPU, figured let them look for it.
