This preconfigured IdeaPad 320 on sale is today's deal in Lenovo's 12 Days of Christmas Sale. The AMD A9-9420 Processor (3GHz 1MB) is comparable to a Core-m3 according to NotebookCheck [IMO, kind of weak for this laptop format, size, weight, bulk].

HD-Graphics-620-vs-Radeon-R5-Stoney-Ridge

8250U-vs-6200U-vs-A9-9420

============

The next daily deals are:

December 08, Flex 5 (15")
December 09, Yoga 720 (15")
December 10, IdeaPad 320 Laptop (15") -- Intel SoC
December 11, Legion Y520 | Intel Core i7 Gaming Laptop
December 12, Yoga 720 (13)

The laptop clearance section has some other old models at reduced price.

I'm not too sure that buying a 2 core Intel based consumer-line Lenovo laptop with an old generation SoC makes sense now. There have been a couple of relatively good deals for consumer laptops with 8th generation i5 processors from other manufacturers [in the $550-$800 bracket, see expired deals for Inspiron 15 at MS, Acer Swift at BB, etc].

In any case, if someone is interested on a Lenovo laptop, there might be some coupons from an RFD competitor that might work [can't be posted here - google them] if used through the regular store portal (not EPP).

-----

For those curious about the performance of this AMD A9-9420 SoC, notebookcheck has a review of the HP 15-BW077AX laptop with almost the same specs of this Lenovo IdeaPad 320 (AMD A9-9420, 4GB DDR4, 1TB HDD 5400rpm, HD screen, etc) -- just skim yourselves the sections performance-processor and GPU performance

Another review @ NBC, this time for the Asus VivoBook X751BP (AMD A9-9420, HD+, 8GB, 1TB HDD 5400rpm) Laptop reaches pretty much the same conclusions about the A9-9420 and its iGPU.
----

Edits: Added NBC comparisons for CPU & GPU, added performance review of similar HP laptop

Generally I would stick to intels for laptops.

I hate that AMD labels this as an A9 which would be good if it was a desktop considering where an A10 is but this is around i3 laptop cpu wise.

Waiting for an i3 deal from MS.

Good call there Frosty.

I have an AMD cpu and it just failed me an hour ago. Screen turned off but hard drive was still running. Nothing on the screen. It just overheated I am assuming is what happened.
It is a replacement for my intel processor that I had for less than two months and it sucks.

I've also bought a laptop from lenovo some 12 years ago and never again.
I had a bad experience with it as it overheated and the battery compartment was the hottest I've even experienced on a laptop before.
I got rid of it really quick as it was just too hot to feel safe in using only after having it on for about an hour.

Sure Lenovo took over IBM brand PC's and laptops as they rebranded the Think line with their name but that still doesn't matter to me.

Never again will I be getting a Lenovo after that. Heat is a computers worst enemy.
