Memorial Day sale was same laptop but i5 and 16GB RAM, same everything else for $779, picked one up for my uncle who'd been looking. Had 11% Ebates as well on top of that.

Same CPU benchmark, about 10% slower in single core CPU.
Same 15W, almost everything else is the same.

I would guess about 5% slower, but probably no noticeable difference.

If this laptop memory runs in dual channel, should be decent for light gaming

This is perfect, but it ships in 3 weeks. Is there a model that ships sooner?

Exactly what I was looking for but of course it has a glossy instead of matte screen. So annoying all the stuff that goes on good sales this cheap under $700 is glossy 80% of the time.

Vega 10, right? This is a good price, especially if it can take fast dual channel ram.

Whoops. Vega 8. Hmm.

Great deal on a new model. Low risk deal wise given the shipping time and return window will take you into Back to School sales.

Back lit keyboard keyboard and rapid charging are nice bonuses, optional pen support too.

Weird, I am annoyed when all the high end gaming stuff is matte lol. I am in a light controlled room, glossy is way better.

The intel model wasn't able to do 4k@60hz as they used stupid proprietary drivers crippling the intel chip. Anyone knows if they did that here? Or if they used a hdmi 1.4 port in all version of this laptop or something?

I've never dealt with Lenovo - Do you know how their return policy is? It says no restocking fee but doesnt say much if you wan to try it and dont like it. Pay for return shipping? Gotta see if we can find one locally to check the keyboard.

Fairly standard, 30 days no cost to the purchaser. YMMV with exceptions.

I havent seen this type of keyboard yet either. "Backlit keyboard - US English-French" Makes me wonder if it's the standard Canadian Multilingual or A standard US keyboard with markings for french characters.

Edit: It's worth noting that if you upgrade to onsite warranty and they send you a Canadian multilingual unit, they might change out the keyboard for you under warranty via your onsite warranty if you ask nicely, YMMV of course.
