It looks like a solid colour, small Lenovo font on the side of the lid.

Why am I in here tempting myself on another laptop... must... leave..
Bud, don't make me eat my own words. At $664, I'm quickly running out of excuses.

Comes to $715.91 all in with my student/teacher/military discount, after 10% ebates (if it stacks, and it has once before but they say on the ebates site that it won't).

My gf got this with the Ryzen 5 3500U with the 256GB drive for $611 all in, and I can't bring myself to spend a $100 more for those upgrades. The 3500U and 3700U are not that far apart: https://www.notebookcheck.net/3700U-vs- ... 596.0.html

That's a pre-tax price of $639.21 [BC Tax Adjusted].

How is the student/teacher/military discount activated?

I'm told this gap is largely due to software optimizations in the pipeline but not yet released, which should buoy the 3700U.

I seriously considered this laptop though Amazon USA and only passed because it's not suit and tie appropriate (too flashy). I will probably be getting a Thinkpad with the same specs for more money (business users are reamed typically). If I were me 5 years ago, I would've already bought this.
It's an all black laptop... How is it too flashy?

Honestly, I was basing the aesthetic on my shiny silver Flex 15 from 2018.

How much crow would you like me to eat if this turns to be a muted sleek black?

I forget. It's been a while since I made my VerifyMe ID account.

So, this was $620+tax a few weeks ago?

Do you have links about that? I thought it was limited by the 15w TDP.

Will this be any good for photo and video work? Including working on some 4K drone shots? Or do I need to spend four times as much (MacBook Pro).

I think wires are getting crossed in our communication. It seems with the student/etc discount, the prices are comparable.

It will do basic video editing, but you'll want a dedicated graphics card if you're looking to do 4K editing. Possibly a 1660TI or 2060 laptop graphics card.

Ok so I’ve never ebated before how does that work ?

I created an account used the Lenovo link and bought it. Does it take time for the credit to show up?

FYI, I got it for 737 with tax using my wife’s teaching credentials!

So before tax price if Rakuten works will be 630

I'm getting through the VerifyMe feature for the student discount, and it doesn't like Firefox. Might have to recommend Internet Explorer just in case.

Some facts for folks, as to why you should be buying this unit.

Lenovo Flex 14 2-in-1
Ryzen 3700U + Vega 10
14.0" FHD (1920x1080) IPS, glossy, multi-touch [250 to 300 nits]
8Gb RAM [2x4GB, One SODIMM slot, One soldered]
512GB NVMe SSD
0.7" Thick

Think about that. You're getting the highest end Ryzen U-Series chip with the solid Vega 10 onboard graphics. You're getting a 2-in-1 with a 10-point multi-touch screen, where Windows 10 supports tablet mode. Also, since when are laptop makers including impressively large 512GB NVMe SSDs at this price point? All that device for only 0.7" of thickness.

Did I mention the upgrade option?
- NVMe SSD is replaceable.
- One SODIMM slot available, ergo, possibilities:
==> 4GB onboard + 16GB SODIMM = 20GB RAM [$80 CAD 16GB SODIMM]
==> 4GB onboard + 32GB SODIMM = 36GB RAM [$206 CAD 32GB SODIMM]

The price? All for $664 + tax (Pending Confirmation).

If you do the math, it comes to $620 again, I just forget about the student discount... things get busy and I forget, life happens.

Did we just lose the 10% when it rolled over 12:00AM EST?
