When do you notice the light bleed? In the dark?
Nope, every time the screen loads a game (black screens) and dark games.

My son says it was the first thing he noticed when I showed him, but he didn't want to burst my bubble.

That, and the 3 hour battery life. If it's not mobile I'm better of building a desktop.

I'm just going to bite the bullet and buy a Razer. I keep pushing-footing around it.

I decided to return my unit today as well for various reasons. Keyboard placement, battery life, minor backlight bleed, muddled sound when playing music, can't play games in hdr.

For the price I paid I could build a monster PC and stream games to my 5 year old laptop or just play it in big picture mode on my tv or just use my xbox one to stream it to the TV. There are so many options now that cost far less than a gaming laptop.

When you undervolted, did you adjust Speedshift at all? If checked, what value did you set it at (0-255)? So far I have undervolted CPU Core and Cache both to -0.125. Reading mixed things about the speedshift and value.

Edit: With the undervolt, CPU temps are averaging around 76 deg, which doesnt seem like a huge difference without the undervolt, but max temps it peaks at is down from >95 deg to about 85 deg.

FYI ordered on February 28th and my shipping is expected to arrive May 6th. Talked to Lenovo customer service via online chat - said I was thinking of cancelling the order due to the long delay, and they offered me a $125 discount. This is on top of the student discount + ebates. Worth a shot to ask if you're stuck in the same scenario.

Anyone else finding the WASD keys getting a little warm? I might be too picky, but they get noticeably hot and that's with CPU temps of 75-80 deg C. Granted the laptop is so thin for a gaming laptop that I should expect some sort of heat from it.

Some HWINFO pics:
Laptop temps with HWINFO
First one is undervolted -125
Second pic is undervolted -125 and Turboboost disabled. I do notice FPS drops when Turboboost is disabled.

These peaks >90 deg, should they be a bit alarming? Or are these pretty normal.

Spoke to Lenovo, they are going to be sending me a replacement laptop. Hopefully have more stable temps with the next one.

Thanks for letting me know there is a sale on. Went with the 17inch RTX2070 max-q model starting at $2019. Couldn't pass up the 3-year Priemium warranty and damage protection for only about $180 more.

Jeez,.I might just re-order a brand new one. I originally paid $2050 for the 2060, 512GB SSD, and full 3 year warranty, I can pay the same and get a 2070, but with 1tb HD and 250SSD, and still 3 year full warranty. Essentially getting a better GPU, but losing a bit of the SSD...seems like its worth the trade off to me..

Login through this link https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/ibmeppca/

The password is IBMEPP. There is a decent sale going on right now, and using that link knocks another hundred bucks or so off. Of course if you have student/military ID you can probably get a better deal through the standard website.

I tried IBMEPP vs military discount on the first laptop (cheapest).

IBMEPP: $1711
Military: $1635

Pretty hot pricing for a 2060

Can the student discount stack on promotion (not ibmepp) discount?
