This tablet is decent and can do a lot for what it costs - it will just take some time and effort to tune it properly.
Bottom line is that it's just not for everybody.

I bought one before Christmas and returned it after a week (the one I got was a refurbished/plain box for $80 - it looked new out of the box). The only experience with Android I've had was with a Samsung Galaxy Ace cell phone prior to getting the Lenovo A1. I also own a Blackberry Playbook for several months. Those were my only two exposures to tablets, other than the odd time playing with one in a store.

There wasn't much wrong with the A1 other than it being slow and the screen wasn't very good (viewing from 2 out of the 4 sides was okay, but viewing off angle by the slightest from two poorer sides was pretty unusable). I upgraded mine from gingerbread to ice cream sandwich. Worked okay, but still found it to be slow. I tried to like, but it wasn't enjoyable enough for me to keep despite the low price.

I like where these tablet prices are going. At sub $100, very tempted to get one and dash mount it permanently in the car.

Yup. Was in stock this morning. I did what any RFDer will do: buy now and return later if not needed.

Price has gone back up but item is now in stock. I thought this was on until Feb 2, 2013? I want another one. Can I insist on the old price as per their ad? Of course that sale ad is not on the site now.
