T410 is $341 here.

What would you guys pick? The T410 for $341 or:

Internal Sku ID: 6654427
OS: 64-bit Windows 7 Pro
RAM: 4 GB
HDD: 250 GB

I'd probably go with the T410 because of the SSD drive.

Hummmm....these are the same prices they've been for a couple weeks now. They're always $100 their phony reg. price.

Managed to bring up two different pages using the same link in different browsers. The result is the same for both. For example, the x201 is $412 (reg. price $512) , the $100 off page gives me $512 minus the $100 but oos.

Is it generally wise to purchase warranty on these to extend it for a year? Looks like it comes with 3 month warranty, or should i just stick with cc double up to 6 months.

As a general rule of thumb, I never buy extended warranty on electronics, unless the warranty is dirt cheap...and most are not.

I am a big fan of Thinkpad series since x40 days(heck even converted my former work place to thinkpads once) but these prices are out of this world (plus you pay tax on used stuff). They are heavy machines (most sans IPS). Only good thing is the classic thinkpad keyboard (which BTW you can also buy a USB version if you want).
I say save your money buy one of those Dell/ASUS/Lenovo Windows tablets8 inch plus a BT keyboard and mouse plus a good IPS LCD (if you really want it to be a desktop) you will still be ahead.

Just got mine. Ordered late on July 30th, received in Toronto before the 10:30 am scheduled delivery time on August 1st so quite fast delivery. Paid C$341+tax. Still assessing it but so far happy and I believe I will keep it. It is obvious that it is used, a small scratch on the outside cover plus marks where someone obviously taped a business card to the lid and some wear on the feet on the bottom but nothing really objectionable. I got the 128gb SSD but noticed the current models on sale don't officially state they have this although about the same price. Battery is used but quite good, about 5 hours and shows 6+ if you dim the display. Has blue tooth, fingerprint reader and wireless N. Big bonus is that the screen is better than advertised, 1600 X 900, and is nice. Even has some IBM Lotus Symphony 3 software on it which is based on Open Office with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software - this might be free anyway but I didn't have to download it.

not sure if I would buy their refurb again, bought a T410S last year (NOV-2013) for mom, battery got replaced within warranty luckily within 90 days (replaced by a used). Then this month the 1.8" HDD started to act up on my mom... This type of HDD are quite pricey so probably not worthy to go through the troubles to replacing it since I am not sure what's gonna be replaced next...
