Lenovo: Thinkpad T430s 760.50 after coupon
Use "Friends & Neighbours EPP" link:
http://shoplenovo.i2.com/SEUILibrary...AffinityPortal
Friends & Neighbours EPP Password = "FNDEPP"
Choose T430s base model which is 824.25 after coupon. Then upgrade from i5 to i7, ignore that [Add $245.00] you will find the total goes DOWN to 760.50. I tried the other i5 upgrade but it is an invalid configuration. Good deal if you want an i7 in the first place. Not sure if this works on other models.
Lenovo's product configurator is full of surprise

Says integrated graphics when you customize :-(
Ah, I see - when you upgrade to the i7 it comes with Intel graphics instead of dedicated.

Its not price error. the starting configuration has NVIDIA N13 card selected. when you upgrade to i7, HD4000 is selected.
when you select i5, you'll see NVIDIA N13 is $330

Lenovo's product configurator is full of surprise

This is because it removes the Nvidia graphic card

What is the main difference between the T430 and the T430S? The pricing seems good right now. I wonder if this is a good time to buy or in late July-August, when the school sale starts.
The technical specs for both the T430/T430S are "Coming Soon"? Shouldn't the pdf be up before the laptop goes on sale?

The Slim line is about 0.5-1lb lighter? It's thinner and uses the 1.8" hard drive instead of 2.5" (I thinkkk, never opened up a regular T)
I would go slim if you carry around a lot and cannot stand the 12.5" on the X. Otherwise, get the X230 for similar price (i5 instead of i7, still HD4000)

I need a laptop for business school this fall. I would need a business-targeted laptop for sure, with high mobility. I have never used a laptop with a 12.5" screen, so am wondering how the X230 will work. However, the small size is a definite plus for me.
Also, the X220/230 seems to have an IPS screen option which I don't see with the T430S. There is an upgradable screen (1600x900), but no mention of IPS.

Agreed. Built mine to similar specs. No need for the i7 personally, and the second level of i5 gives the HD 4000 option.
Alas, no IPS screen for the 430S. Bummer. For what I have read online, this 1600x900 screen is quite inferior to the IPS panel on the X230

Good deal and I would love to get the i7 but if you choose it then you loose the option for the nVidea graphics which sucks...
