Lenovo ThinkPad X240 v. T440s

So I'm due for a new laptop and I would really like to get in on this US deal they're having (25% off) on ThinkPads through Corporate Perks.

So it comes out to exactly $180 difference between the X240 and T440s.

All stock specifications except i5-4200u CPU ($50), 6-Cell Battery ($5), and Intel Dual band WiFi ($30) upgrade.
I'm thinking of getting a SSD and 8GB ram later and install it myself.

But the question is... which would you get?

I would take the T440s, bigger screen, higher res, but still very light weight.

I faced the same decision but ended up with a t440s.

Having owned an x61 and x200, I really looked forward to the x240 but the deal breaker for me was the lack of an FHD on the x240. I'll miss the portability of the x240 but the t440s isn't exactly a heavyweight. Compared to the t420 I use for work, the t440s is very sleek and extremely light. And the 1080 screen is incredible!

No regrets after a month... although I still hate the integrated trackpoint buttons.

When did you get your t440s? During a sale/promo? What did it end up costing and what are the specs? Thanks!

Personally I want the portability that you get with the smaller x series. The x series usually has better battery life too. I use my laptop almost always with an external monitor so the resolution isn't an issue.

I bought it last year during their Black Friday sale (which wasn't really special). It was the base model with only one option - the FHD screen. Can't remember the exact pricing but it was much more than the quote above.

A long time! I ordered it in late November with an estimated ship date of Dec.5 but it arrived on Dec.29.
