Lens rentals?

I've never rented a lens before, but am thinking about renting the Canon 24-70 f2.8 II.

I'm in Vancouver, and I recall knowing about Henrys and Vistek doing rentals, though henry's doesn't anymore and Vistek isn't out west. Anyone with experience renting gear/any thoughts on it/recommendations?

Have you thought about just buying the lens used, and sell it when your done. It might be cheaper to do that, rather than renting. I actually made a $50 profit doing that back in 2016. Bought a 70-200 f4 for a 2 week vacay. Sold the lens when I got back from my vacay. I'm sure that lens would have been pretty pricey to rent for 2 weeks.

I have rented camera gears from vistek before. I don't have anything negative to say, other than the need to drive to downtown to pickup/drop off.

Another option to rent gear is using sites such as https://www.sharegrid.com/

I know there is a Toronto version of it, not sure if a Vancouver version exist.

Hi,

https://www.bing.com/search?q=camera+le ... &FORM=PERE
Never rented a lens before but a Bing search also listed Broadway & Leo's. You'll have to give them a call to see if it's a "try before you buy" policy that is qualifying them in this search listing. Otherwise, check out these 3 places.

If you do rent from 1 of these guys, would like to hear about the experience.

This.

Or check local Facebook groups to see if anyone runs a little rental gig.

Rental won't be cheap, and prices are a tad high depending how long you're renting.

In Vancouver the go to place would be Beau Photo (west Broadway and granville) for rentals, but you can also check out Fusion Cine (on Venables, before commercial drive).

I think Leo's also does this on Granville downtown, but Beau/FusionCine are the go-to places if you need a rental for a job or evaluation.

Henry's doesn't do rentals anymore, and Vistek will from Calgary or Edmonton, but then you need to deal with shipping.
