Just wondering if anyone has ever had a similar situation...
I sent a few official documents in a 10x13 kraft envelope to Vietnam on January 31st. I asked the cashier at the postal office if it was possible to have the mail registered but he told me it was not possible to do so.
So it's been 45 days and my letter has not reached its destination. I called Canada Post and they told me the letter cannot be traced and might be lost or stuck at customs.
Anyone have a similar experience??
Should I wait til after 2 months to re-send the documents via DHL?
Please note that it cost me about $150 to gather the documents so I don't want to re-send them and have the first set show up the next week...
My primary concern is that the documents might fall into the wrong hands...
Any opinions or insight would be greatly appreciated!!

Could you send it with a courier company next time? Like FedEx?

I would go UPS. They have real time (by the second) tracking that other courier companies can only dream about having.

Did you specifically mark "By Air Mail / Par Avion" on the letter? My understanding is that if you don't, it gets sent by truck / boat to the destination. Just wait.
I have had letters specifically marked "air mail" from Africa and Asia take about 30 days to arrive here though (even registered mail). So it isn't too strange.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked no_username for this post.

Yes, sending it via UPS or DHL would've been better but it costs about 110 to send it.LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked masterguma for this post.

Not sure if Vietnam is known to have issues with their postal services. I've sent things like this before and never had any problems.
I confirmed the address and everything before sending it off.
I know...I should have sent it via UPS or DHL but it's really expensive :cry:LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked masterguma for this post.
