LF: Brand new Sharp Aquos LC46D82U
Hi.
I'm looking to buy a Sharp Aquos LC46D82U LCD TV.
So far my favorite deal is at costco.ca.
Online with delive it's $2700 before taxes. In store it might be cheaper because no shipping is required. Plus costco has the 1 year no hassle return and with AMEX i get an extra year of warranty after that.
Are there any better deals out there I didn't find? Anything below 2500 would be great.
Thanks.

If you have the Costco AMEX, you can take 2% off the Costco price.

2% rebate comes off at the end of the year, not when u purchase.
I believe it comes in the way of a Costco gift certificate.

Not the same model, but I picked up the 46D64U for under 1949+tax.
AFAIK the only difference between the 64 and the 82 is the 64 is 60 htz and 82 is 120 htz. Correct me if i'm wrong, but its worth the 600 savings...

You actually don't get 2%.
First 3000 on that card you get something like 0.25%
Next 2000 you get 0.5% back
For everything over 5000 you get 1.5% back.
And you also get 0.5% back as a bonus once you go over a certain amount.
That's when it becomes 2%. Everything over $5000 you get your 1.5% and bonus 0.5% back.

Also, I'm pretty set on the D82U. I believe the differences between the two justify me spending extra $600.

What area the differences? I think the specs look fairly similar (64 has hdmi 1.3/82 hdmi 1.2a) so is there internal differences? ie 64 does not address the banding problem while the 82 does?

Pretty sure neither of the two really addresses the bending issues.
Where did you get yours from?

FS. I got extended warranty, so I figure I can PRP a new model when they do fix the banding issue, but still I get to have a nice tv until then.

Just my opinion, but FS extended warranty is a scam.
I am not even considering FS and BB as viable places to buy from. Costco has no questions on the spot exchange policy for 1 full year. In FS to do a warranty claim you have to bring your TV in. You won't see it for 2 months a won't get a loaner in the mean time and finally you will get it back with the same issues it had plus a cracked case and scratched screen. I've dealt enough with FS/BB and their extended warranties to know better.
Only thing they are good for is PM and buying things you have no intention of bringing back. Or are content with relying on manufacturer's warranty. This would be something like a case of CD/DVD-Rs, headphones, cables, etc. With the Aquos and potential for banding on any of their sets it is always nice to get it from a place with a good return policy. Which FS/BB is not once you are past your 30 days return period.
This is also why I'm a little weary of buying at a small electronics shop. Their return policy is usually a week and even then you'll make a fuss for them to take it back. But if the price is substantially cheaper then I'd consider it.
