LF: Compaq Presario R3230CA
Trying to find the best deal for the Compaq Presario R3230CA in retail stores or online (in canada only). Best price I can find is at Futureshop for $1399, it's overpriced considering pcoutlet.com had it for $1199 a while back.

if your area has a office depot, i would try to go there and pick up a r3310ca . i didn't notice much different in the spec between R3310CA and R3230CA.
anyway, office depot is clearing them out. price online will show $1500. but if you choose "pick up at store" or just call your local office depot, they'll tell you it's only $900.
it's a clearence item, so g'luck finding stock.

Yeah, already tried my luck with that deal two months ago, they should really pull that off their website. I'll probably settle for a R3220CA at compusmart for $1099, would rather buy from staples, but they're out of stock.

May 6th, 2005 11:30 AM #7pcoutlet.com sells mostly refurbished or return product, that's why they are cheaper...you really have to test your luck.

R3240 is a lil over my budget and I don't think the price is going to drop any time soon. I'll just settle for a older model and save a few hundred dollars.
Yeah but the R3230CA was brand new, kicking myself for not taking advantage of that deal.pcoutlet.com sells mostly refurbished or return product, that's why they are cheaper...you really have to test your luck.

Thx for the offer Cisco, but I'm in the market for a brand new laptop. Just out of curiosity, why are you selling it?

I've got the r3440ca - got it on sale for $1400. I love it, but I sorta think I shoulda waited and got a r4025, but it isn't too big of a deal.

I plan to buy a dvdrw drive for it and sell the combo drive off on egay. I could sell it or keep it either way.
This laptop is like the 3440 except 40GB drive vs 80GB and no dvd burner like the 3440 and no true brite. I used the 3440 and returned it due to true brite. Processor is same as well as 64 DDR Geforce vcard
