any idea how to et 2100 aeroplan miles easily? (without doing unwise purchases?)

You can earn 500 aeroplan miles a pop at avis aiport locations or 250 a pop at off-airport locations. I believe the aeroplan miles bonus is valid for a one day rental so if you get a $21 a day rental it's a pretty cheap price to pay for 250 miles. It's basically 10x bonus

2000 miles costs $60, anything that's around that price that'll get me around 2100 miles?

I know there are some surveys going around, that earn you miles but unsure where I can get them.

It takes forever to collect 2100 Aeroplan points via surveys. They only give around 50 to 100 miles per survey.

Better to just sign up for a credit card. CIBC Aeroplan Gold currently gives you bonus of 15,000 miles upon sign up. End of March is pretty tight though, unfortunately.

I suggest just transferring miles from a family member. Cost is still around $40 though.

What about using points.com, if you have any unneeded points from other programs?

When were you planning to redeem your points for that flight in March?

By the time you earn the points, I doubt there will be any seats left at the "standard" redemption point level, and you'll need to redeem a higher number of points to get one of the "any seat available " which is more based on the current market price of the remaining seats.

do you guys think switching from points.com is a good idea? My dad has some Esso points, not in my name.

Not sure if the ratio is worth it.

I had some AAdvantage and Asia miles but they both expired and I wasn't notified beforehand!

Will need > 10K Esso points for the 2100 Aeroplan miles. Not really worth it, but if you're only missing that little bit to get a free flight, you might want to go ahead anyway.

argh, I just got all your ideas, and now the flight segments I'm looking for are all gone. The CSR on the phone was really rude too, he was saying "well, OBVIOUSLY, the available tickets will keep diminishing" when I asked him if new tickets would pop up.
