I just bought a Samsung SCX4521F at Future Shop (Toronto) after reading recommendations on RFD. It has a standalone fax and a pc fax in addition to a monochrome laser printer, scanner and copier, so it's more than you might need -- but I thought I'd mention it in case you end up going the 5-in-1 route. It has a toner saver setting so you can use 25% less ink when you print, and I think each printer cartridge comes with a new drum so you don't have to worry about replacing the drum one day.

Future Shop just dropped their price to $299 (was $399 and then $329 before) -- new, not refurbished. OTA at College & Spadina (www.otapc.com) has it for $285. I'm not saying it's a "hot" deal... just that it seems to be a good choice at a reasonable price.

Thanks for your tips. Yes, save the power also is my another concern. I will check this out.
