LF: Lower my Telus bill
1) Currently we're being charged 4.95 for the "phone rental." During the strike, I was going to return their crappy phone to them so I wouldn't get charged, but I didn't get around to it, and somehow ended up losing their phone.
Is there any way I can get this charge taken off the bill without penalty? Do I just ask or do I have to say something specific?
2) A 7.95ish long distance plan fee. We hardly ever use long distance. Checked out the info on Yak and it sounds alright. If I signed up with yak, do they send me a bill seperate from my Telus phone bill? Is it as easy/good as it sounds?

How in thw World do you lose a phone? and why would you rent one for $4.95? - that works out to close to $60 a year. Not sure how to deal with the lost phone, since contractually - it's theirs and you've lost it. Maybe just call customer service and ask them.
The LD plan is bogus - we nix'd it a few years ago for YAK. Even if you don't make any LD calls, you get nailed for the charge. Just have them remove it and use a service like YAK. It's sometimes a PIA because the lines are busy and you can't get the call to go through (not very often, but it does happen), but the price is right. Telus bills you the YAK portion as "Alternate Billing" or something like that. So it's all on one bill.
Good luck
