There are DVD players that will do that for you. I believe Canadian Tire has a Koss player for about 80 bucks.

Sandisk (and I'm sure others) have a device that takes flash-based media and allows you to plug it into a TV to view it (think slideshow).
Couldn't find such a thing at Futureshop...
