LF: Place to mod PS2
I was wondering where's a good place to mod a PS2 (the older version, not the slim version) for a good price in Toronto? Don't need "game addons" and such, just a nocd swapping mod that's highly up-to-date.
I heard P-mall does it for around 100-150, but I'm looking for a place that's close, in the Downtown area of Toronto.
Thanks.

We got three modders w/excellent references on this board that do all three consoles:
Kursor17
DJXP
nonanon
I've dealt with Kursor17 in the past and would highly recommend him.

Pmall will do it, but they will give you a clone modchip ! They never use real authentic mods.
Whats the difference between clones and authentic chips anyways you ask?
Well clones use very cheap components. If you look at an authentic chip like DMS4 Lite for example , you are getting very high grade components.
That said I can offer you a clone chip for version 1 - 7 for only $50 including install, the chip was obtained from a source in pmall, its the duo2 clone.
If you want Authentic I can offer you the DMS4 Lite for $100 installed (v1-v10) - apply romeo mod free for v9/v10 units
If it is a v9/v10 unit I can do Magic KX+ for $80 installed. - apply romeo mod free for v9/v10 units
Best chip is the DMS4 Lite, it will auto detect all media ie ps1,ps2,dvd media and boot it without doing anything special. Also has 2 devolution modes, 1 to boot from memory card, 1 to boot from the hard drive.
Quick boot, options etc.
I am located in Maple (Canada's Wonderland) so still not quite downtown.
Check out my thread/feedback

Would you by any chance know how to check what version a PS2 is?

- What do you mean by devolution modes? boot from mem card? boot from hdd?
(with an HDD Don't you need a network adapter or something connected to the back?)
I'll edit this post if I need to ask more questions, thanks.
(saving last post/bump)
I don't mind travelling abit, but not too far. I'm not too good with directions either, so it may take awhile to figure out how to get to where ever.
