Me too, I dont think it has gone down in price yet.
War of the Worlds price dropped like a rock, you get what you pay for I guess.

It was ~$25 at Zellers on launch day, which is where I got it. Other than that, it goes for $25.96 at Amazon.ca and $25.99 at Future Shop.
It's selling pretty well, don't expect a price drop anytime soon...

Yeah, I paid $40 I think, the day it was released. I rarely buy DVD's, but this one was worth every penny.
I bought mine at walmart, likely as cheap as anyplace else. I agree with above posts that this is likely a strong seller and unlikely to drop anytime soon. Not that I'm some expert in dvd pricing
.
Too bad I found out about this show and movie like 3 years after it was cancelled.

i bought mine at futureshop for 25.99 after i bought the Firefly series for 29.99 during boxing week.
I heard firefly was pretty good and for $30 for the complete season, i bought it. Turns out, firefly actually IS good.
After watching firefly, I went to FS and bought Serenity.
Like someone posted earlier, it is selling pretty well and price will probably not drop until summer (it only came out last month).

What struck me is that the movie wasn't any better than the TV shows. That'd be an insult to most movies, but the tv shows for this thing were that good - easily as good as a great movie in their own right. And the movie itself was excellent.

I never watched the series, but did catch this on disc and thought it was like a tv show or series in terms of acting, special effects and production.
