LF: Thermostat with humidity display...
I'm looking for a thermostat that has humidity display built-in. I have hardwood and would like to know the humidity so I can adjust my humidifier.
The only ones I see that have this are the Noma brand from Canadian Tire. I had one at my old place and it was just ok, seemed to allow a large fluxuation of temps, allowing it to cool to much then heating past the set temp all the time.
Do I have other options? Are the newer Noma ones any better?
Thanks!

I know they exist, but are hard to find, and I haven't seen one where the humidity is used to determine when the furnace/AC turns on/off. It's just a display of the relative humidity. It's easier to just buy standalone humidity/temperature display things, available in most hardware stores, unless you're set on changing your thermostat anyway.

Most thermostats allow you to adjust the temperature "droop" and overshoot. My honeywell allows up to 2C droop or overshoot, adjustable in .5C increments. The Noma from CT is the cheapest @ $40 with auto humidifier control.
Of all the thermostats with humidifier control I've looked at, only the Honeywell and Totaline have the ability to adjust the humidity control according to the outside temperature if the outside temperature probe has be installed. Neither are cheap at around $300 for parts only. The Honeywell will turn on the AC to dehumidify but I haven't tried to set it to humidify if it goes below a certain threshold.
edit: Here's a list of thermostats with humidity control from all major manufacturers: http://www.iaqsource.com/category.ph...?category=1380
The Honeywell Prestige HD looks amazing for $399 ($997 msrp!). Anybody want to buy a lightly used Honeywell Visionpro IAQ?
Awesome! The Vacation mode is also deluxe: You touch your start date & time and your return date & time, and it goes into your desired vacation mode, bringing the house back to a livable temperature just in time to welcome you home. That is the very essence of luxury.Last edited by rf134a; Oct 29th, 2009 at 01:15 PM. Reason: added iaqsource website
