For pricing reference purposes, I picked up the 65B7 for $2399 at the fall home show.

Wow that’s awesome. That’s significantly lower than every other report I’ve seen.

Who is the seller though? I don’t think I’d buy unless I could confirm it’s an authorized seller. Otherwise getting warranty work could be an issue.

Anyhow, I’d expect the C8 65” to be under $3000 this Black Friday or at the various shows. The B8 might be cheaper though, since the C8 has a real advantage this year.

Anyone get pricing for a 77” model at one of the shows? I think someone in the thread where I was asking about pricing said they didn’t get good deals on the 77”.

Also, what’s the cheapest for third party calibration? I wanted calibration too. The LG factory colours seem a bit off to me, and not as good as most Sonys out of the box. Rtings seems to agree. LG OLEDs calibrate well but aren’t great for colour calibration out of the box.

Authorized seller with six locations in GTA. Others got it for $2499 so I guess I caught them at good time to haggle. There is a thread on it from last fall.

I almost don't want to believe you (only because I could've been enjoying OLED goodness all this time - damn it!).
I've been watching the LG OLED prices like a hawk ready to swoop down and buy; unfortunately even the 2017 models haven't hit the sweet point in pricing I'm looking for.

That’s awesome. Who was the retailer and is it an authorized reseller?
I bought mine from Teletime, they are an authorized dealer. Hi-Fi City was also offering them for the same price and are also authorized.

Either the 2017 LG 65" E7 or probably a 2018 LG 65" C8. Aesthetically, I prefer the look of the 2018 C8.

Great price but beware of burn-in.

Ah that makes sense. Online, Teletime consistently has the cheapest pricing it seems. I have heard though you need to be careful with them. One guy in another thread said he got an open box delivered to him, sold as new. They did let him return the open box for a refund though.

Best Buy offered me the E7 65” for $3399 with calibration and extra year warranty but I took the B7 instead for $300 less.

The C8 offers slightly better dark scene processing because of a faster CPU, black frame insertion, and supposedly better motion handling. Also maybe a bit better brightness.

I think I would've jumped on that - I would've definitely wanted it calibrated & I have no intention of mounting it myself so it saves me the time/money to have someone else do it.
How many total years warranty then?

Wait until CNE next week. I got my 65" B7 at $3000 cash after tax or $3000 + 2% if by credit card (after tax). Best TV purchase for sure (no regrets).

2 years total. Plus I paid with a credit card that adds warranty but I don’t know if it works in this context to give a third year.

My particular deal included calibration but not mounting. I think they may offer mounting (or at least a deal on that) if you buy a mount from them though.

BTW, another option offered me was a three year warranty and no calibration.

Let's look forward to @Paigne's tear down of the LG OLEDs.

Nah, he's just a knowledgeable Vancouverite programmer. Solid chap.
