LG 245, Frozen at boot up. HELP!

I have a Telus LG 245, and its frozen on the Telus Screen. The Telus screen is the screen after the LG screen. Last night when I was working I had the phone on and it was working fine. I charged it when I went home. Today befoe I left for my occassional afternoon shift I turn my phone on and it just freezes at the Telus screen. I spoke with Telus Mobilitiy Client Care and they told me I need to take it in to one of there service centers to get it flahsed and reprogrammed. Since it it under warranty I dont have to pay a service which takes 4-6 weeks but I have to pay for a S&H since it is a pay and talk phone. Or I could use a $30 credit I have towards a new phone but I have to pay for a new phone at an inflated price (I got my phone for $99.99 and for me to buy the same on I have to pay $179.99 - $30 credit) plus an additional $25 for phone upgrade. If I dont get a new phone they want to pay a $75 a loaner phone for time it takes to repair my phone.
Now is there anything I can do with the phone to make it load, so I don't have to spend money?
