LG 42LB5500 TV demo $225 from costco

Picked this up as an impulse purchase from costco today, complete with remotd, manuals, etc. Couple fingerprints and some dust but otherwise fine.

Thought about replacing our old westinghouse w4207 bedroom TV with this. Same screen size, upgrade from 1080i to 1080p, second hdmi which is a bonus. Only concern is the lack of a proper standard mounting holes for our existing stand.

Is this worth keeping or should I throw it back? Demo isn't a concern, still has costco 2 year concierge warranty. For reference they carry a newer model for $498. Don't need a bigger screen as this is for the bedroom; the current westinghouse is a bit of a beast on the stand mount and has a huge bezel. I'm wondering if I should go with the upgrade and try and dump the westinghouse on kijiji...

Are you kidding? $225 for a reasonable namebrand 42" TV? 19" TVs cost about $200, which is what I'm looking for, but if I saw that for $225, I would be tempted to make the 42" work in my small room that is already crammed with stuff :D .

I believe him but this is a unicorn type deal. A few months ago I got a 26" Daenyx LCD for $25 at Goodwill (no tax, no eco fees).

When you see random deals like this it's an impulse buy moment for when you need it in the future. Ironically enough my old 25" CRT TV died just days ago so that find came in handy much earier than I expected.
