LG 42LM5800 LED TV Discussion Thread
Considering 100+ units from RFD alone, thought it'd be a nice idea to get a discussion thread going.

TRUMOTION 120Hz;
The 42LM5800 uses LG's 120Hz TruMotion, after much testing, we recommend locating this feature in the settings, tuning to the User setting and changing the Judder Reduction component completely off to 0, and Motion Blur at level 9 with the exception of sports programming or fast action in broadcast programming for which the feature actually adds quality. This tradeoff will produce lots of jerky judder but it's worth it.

If you have calibrated your set and would like to share your values, please do! Also tips/tricks etc are all appreciated.

I saw it being sold at walmart or costco for about $720 after boxing day. The lg 47lm6400 could be had for $850, which has 6 3d glasses and better features.

Haven't tried yet on any files but does anyone know what files are compatible with this unit? I can't find any documentation on it online.

No complaints so far, actually rather impressed. Wall-mounted it yesterday and was playing SuperStarDust HD in 3D tonight.
Ran the Image Expert to adjust settings and will fine tune later. Haven't went into the other settings other than the contrast/brightness etc through Image Expert. The default seem fine. Using it strictly for consoles and a SteamBox.

Do you think the three years extra warranty is worth it?, every warranty I have gotten I never use!

With the warranty apparently they send a service tech to look at the tv. What i'm wondering is with this type of warranty will they service a rural area. I see no exception in the details but it would be at least an hour from the nearest repair outlet even a non LG one.

Plays pretty much every format off my external hard drive .mkv .mp4 .m4v with subtitle support. Only files it won't play are the ones with dts audio, easily converted.
