LG 52" DLP good? vs LG 37" LCD Flatpanel?

I see no one discuss about LG 52" DLP on sale on FS this week? Why? It seems a good deal to me? Think it is a good deal or not? Is the LG 37" LCD Flatpanel for $999 (BB Boxing Day Door Crasher) a better deal than this? Please help

I believe DLP is already considered old technology which would explain the low price. The guy at the store said they had a lot of returns on the DLPs especially when compared with LCD/Plasma. Course he could have just been trying to talk me up to the more expensive set too.

Don't listen to those guys, DLP is great technology. Might be old, and might not be as good as an LCD, but heck, you're getting much more real estate there. A well tuned DLP actually looks just as good or even better than an LCD. Personally, I have a 42" Sony LCD Projection and a 40" Bravia LCD and my Projection looks better than my LCD. It has to do a little bit with the native resolution of the LCD that I have (only goes to 1388x1040) but heck, I've done massive tuning on both.

don't forget the price of replacement bulbs for the DLP, they range from $250-500 and last about 5000hrs.

And the colour wheel that gives people with light sensitivities headaches.

That's like once every 3-4 years. Normal life of a TV is only around 10 years anyways.

Not sure how you compare the two given the huge size difference.

But you can't get the LG LCD at $999 anymore anyways.
