It's not possible. However, Firefox for Android has some support for extensions. What are you trying to do?
I was trying to install a chrome extension called DIM, I'm not sure if it has a Firefox counterpart but I'll look into that. It's for a video game, not all that important but it would have been nice.

I tried googling this question but couldn't find an answer and wondering if someone here could help. I was wondering if it was possible to add extensions on chrome on the tablet?
Nope. Google doesn't want people adblocking on Chrome. Since this tablet can't be rooted, your only choice is FF for adblock/extentions.

Hey, Folks, it seems that this tabby's wifi does act finicky?

With airplane mode ON and wifi OFF, the battery lifetime for my tabby is reported as ~1000 days,

while with airplane mode ON and wifi also ON, it lasts only for a couple of days or so (in both cases, screen is off).

Is this normal? If not, is the wifi responsible alone,
or maybe some apps take a heavy toll on battery life?
(haven't investigated in detail)?

I'd appreciate a second opinion
(guess rooting is highly desirable here, but which we will probably never get :( )

My tab has no sim card installed.
Airplane mode on
Wifi on
NOT upgraded to Nougat. (android 7)

Sitting on a desk i guess it would go a week at least before needing recharge. Definitely not just a couple days.

Ok, thanks . I just double checked battery life prediction in the settings, after a day of absence, and my tabby officially lasts 3.1 days only on wifi idle. I did upgrade to Nougat (7.xxx) while you probably did not?..

I have to check whether it is a rogue app responsible, or wifi 5 GHz, or something else..

mine has been on wifi. i took it off the charger 76 hours ago. it's at 77%. shows estimate 246 hours remaining. android 6.0.1

in the last three days i've probably turned the screen on to check emails about 5 minutes per day. otherwise it's been sitting idle.

got mine with the october 2016 fido deal

Hmm.. When I greenify some annoying apps, and stay on wifi 2.4GHz, I still have only about 150 hours idle battery life in total.

Was it a mistake to upgrade to Nougat?
(Battery life seemed better to me on Marshmallow before)

What's wrong with 150 hours of idle time? Seems pretty good to me.

Well, given more than double of that, as reported by Kevinck for Marshmallow,
and 1000 hours when wifi is off (as I mentioned above),
it does seem that Nougat screws wifi up, is not it?

I didn't mean to be a smart alec. I see posts all the time about idle time. 150 hrs is just over 6 days, which as I said, seems okay to me. If it's sitting around, why not plug it in?

How come this is so important what with being able to plug into cigar lighter in car, power banks, at home should be a no brainer. I can understand if going on a long trip in the bush without any of the things I mentioned.
