Thank so much OP. I actually was hoping to upgrade my TV from 2014 to current year. I just place an order for the 55" and I hope the quality is going to be decent. This is my first ever big TV screen purchase lol. The price after the employee discount is $581.99. Do you guys think it's a decent deal given the original price listed on site is $849.99? Should I have waited til the Black Friday? Thank you~

Partner Savings Program Card. There were steps posted on a thread 3-4 years ago to signup, I think it was removed.

You can get a much better "TV" for $150 more, TCL 6 series for example. Buy a "real" HDR TV (10 bit, Wide Colour Gamut, Local Dimming , 1000+ nits) , ideally supporting Dolby Vision as well. IPS technology is not HDR friendly.

Folks, I'm recommending this TV-as-a-Monitor.

It's only a midtier panel as a pure TV. It shines as a PC Monitor, however.

Apologies for the confusion.

It's a great console and casual gaming platform for someone looking to save money, on a budget.

For the money, it's a very respectable value. Gentleman recommending the TCL 6-Series for $150 more, is pushing you out of your price neighborhood significantly.

It's a highly decent midtier for the price.

And yes, it offers limited HDR 10 bit support without the very hit nits (brightness) seen on high-end HDR TV's.

Thank you for the reply. I was actually looking for this. As the extra $150 is out of my current range given that I was not planning to upgrade from a 40" lol. We don't have cable at home and only use this for Netflix, and Youtube, maybe play some retro gaming via the Nvidia Shield. That's pretty much it. I hope this will be a good upgrade from the LG 40UB8000. :)

Someone punked me into checking my local Costco for an LG 43UM7300 at $419.99.

Instead I find the 2018 LG 43UK6300 at that clearance price.

Looks like Costco customer service was right, it's online only.

Keep an eye out for the online restock 'after' Monday or Tuesday, at $427.99. Buy that 5-Year Warranty at $29.99.
