Objectively worse on multiple metrics, but I used it for months as a monitor prior to the UM7300. It was more than acceptable to me.

If you're getting the UK6300 or UK6090 super cheap, it's worth considering.
Actually, I got the 55inch TCL 6 series which I`m loving so far.

My friend has a 3 month old 55 inch LG UK6300 that he doesn`t want because he wants a 65 or larger TV. He`s selling for $400 - which seems like a really good deal. Wondering if it`s worth it to save $400 bucks (quite a bit of savings for same size TV) but go lower in terms of quality and specs.. Having said that, we do use the TV a lot and Costco warranty is great.

EDIT: Price my friend is selling for is $400 (not $350)

It's not a terrible deal, but unless you want to help your friend, $400 is a bit rich.

The TCL 50" S425 (2019) is on regular price at $449 on Amazon.ca, and it has better uniformity. 5" smaller, but still decent value.

If he agrees to $350, that's respectable.

My two cents.

Yeah it`s not a bad deal but not super hot - I think the fact we use the TV a lot justifies the 6 series. Thanks. And when you say uniformity do you mean blacks ? I read that UK6300 black reproduction is sh1t

The blacks on the TCL 4 and 6 series are better. The 6 is way better.

IPS is good in bright rooms, but the LG UK6300 2018 is a little dated in terms of screen panel quality.

Thanks thought so too, I'm happy with the TCL 6 series, extra $400 + the 5 year warranty - it's all good.

Honestly, I was waiting for the floor to drop on this TV-as-Monitor: the LG UM7300 43".

So far, I'm just plain satisfied.

When monitor elitism falls away, all your left with is an effective midtier monitor for a midtier TV price.

As LG promises, life is indeed good.

GT 1030 will do 4K60 productivity and basic 4K60 media playback.

GTX 1050TI or 1650 will do robust cross-application 4K60 media playback.

It's good for me. I bought one for the LG UK6300, liked it enough to get it for my LG UM7300. Close to 8 to 12 months of experience.

Solid, nice and tall or short, depending on your desired configuration.

Fancy enough for my tastes.

I want to buy one of these but it seems the price has taken a temporary hike to around $478-9.00 at most places. Wish I'd started looking at tvs a month ago!

Costco.ca has it back in stock at $477.99(+tax) delivered but I stopped by my local warehouse today to see if they had them - no, they only have the older model, and plenty of them. I got the (reluctant) tv clerk to check his computer to see if any 43UM7300 were on order for that location, and no, they're not expecting any. He then checked other stores and told me the only one showing stock was Brampton, with exactly 1 showing as in stock.

I then called a GTA-area tv chain shop and asked about the 43UM7300, and they told me "$499.99+tax". I replied "I thought you guys claimed to have better prices than the big box stores". Their price includes delivery so I asked what his best price would be if I came in to pick up and paid cash. "$449.99+tax". Plus none in stock, 2-3 bus.day from warehouse.

I guess I can wait few weeks...

$449? That's not bad.

Are you willing to share this vendor, or are we talking a grey market sleezeball?

You'll be waiting 4 to 12 weeks, but I respect the patience.
