A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.
To whoever has this quote in their sig, do you consider criminals, addicts, and Hitler to be honorable and useful people?

Adding Hitler to the thread will most likely lead it to be a political topic. However, without him, the world won't be what it is today. No matter what, there will always be wars, and if there were no Hitler, someone else will take his place. Without mistakes, there's no moving forward.
We won't have better buildings by finding out they are unable to stand in earthquakes, etc. These advancements are not made on their own, they are made by people willing to take risks. Willing to fail for the sake of advancement. No one talks about Joe Blow who just went through their lives without doing anything, without accomplishing anything with the fear of failure.
But then, with "criminals and addicts" added to the mix, I really don't think this topic will go anywhere because I highly doubt that's what the quote is talking about._______________

When the doorbell rings, it is an invitation to answer it. You are not a dog, it is not a command. Just an invitation. You are not in church, you are at home. No guilt.

Why don't people hate Napoleon or Stalin as much as they hate Hitler?
Napoleon also killed a lot of people in his quest for dominating Europe.
- some estimates claim about 6.5m dead - all over Europe
Stalin killed more people than Hitler did.
- about 20m in his purges
Why is Hitler the top dog of evil???Last edited by zz000ter; Jul 9th, 2012 at 08:38 AM.

The sig probably refers to mistakes in love or business. Why try to complicate it any more than that?
