life sucks?

mine does now...

when i was younger I wanted to live upper class: a good career, nice place to live, fancy cars...........

so I went into IT,

NOW
can't stand shty tech support or all other bs time wasting jobs
still live in same place
and my license is suspended(no i dont drink and drive)

i dont care about class anymore, dont want money or all that other crap

I want to LIVE FREE, small cabin on the beach, nice music system, veggie garden, few animals and a motorbike in a shed and Ill be happy

can't wait to take off in a month

My life sucks really badly right now. I left Ottawa when i was in my prime, living at home, had my 'dead end' job that i was happy at because i was working with people i went to school with and everybody else was really laid back, low stress with high school, i knew a lot of people, had my wheels, living with my parents, not a care in the world.

Now i'm living in a rut, sleeping on the ground, working 50hrs a week, studying after work, falling asleep with the lights on, never going out at night anymore, don't know anybody, gotta worry about tuition, finding a place to rent for when i move back to Waterloo (on co-op in London) and i'm not having any fun. Sure i'm making more money, but my job is harder, i'm not working with my buddies that i grew up with and chilled with anymore and there's far more stress at work and then with school, the bills, etc. As well, throw in the bad luck i've been getting with my neck getting cut up badly (long story), parking ticket, etc. and i've got a crappy setup right now.

More responsability isn't a bad thing, but it's when you loose your friends/family then life starts to suck.

Losing your friends is probably the hardest but its true. Friends are just friends. Family is where it is at. Your family will ALWAYS be there for you. Friends are just friends.

Life is not supposed to be all happy and fun. Its hard work. Its hard to keep your head above water sometimes. But that is the way it is. Its all about survival. The people that make it, are those that don't give up no matter what. Just keep working hard each day and things will work out in the end.

I don't quite subscribe to that theory. You can choose your friends, but you can never choose family. So it's a good/bad thing.

Life is a journey, not a destination (thanks Aerosmith). There's good and bad. And I think ultimately, it's about balance. Money doesn't solve everything. In fact, it doesn't solve a lot at all. Wealth isn't worth jack when you kick the bucket at 35 because you're overworked (happened to a friend) or work for 30 years, retire then die in 5 months of a heart attack. These people at more than enough money, yet for all their saving and such, it didn't do them much good, as they died with many things left to do.

So, back to balance. This is the trickiest part of life. Because if you spend all your time working, you won't get to enjoy it. If you spend all your time relaxing, you won't be making enough to enjoy it. And even if you have all the money in the world and time, no one else does so you can't share your good fortunes (no man is an island).

So, hug your love ones and tell your parents that you appriciate what they've done for you. Call up an old friend you lost touch with and reconnect. Help someone. Volunteer. Life is full of so much possibility, and so much good! TV and corporations tell us otherwise, that we NEED to buy their stuff to have a fulfilling life. Lies, all lies (though they do work on me now and then).

I'm just babbling on, but life.. it's just amazing the amount of beauty in the world, if not just outside your door. Breathe. Know that in the end, it'll all be OK.
