Hmmm, some potential hype-ing by the seller:

their "reviews" on resellerratings are all bought and paid for.
mrbuyit;90530687 wrote:Another warningg about the cam itself. It is known to develop a huge focusing issue with due exposure to heat. See this thread on Xiaomi forums.

Researchhed the issue and going to pass.

I used to do it a lot with actual cameras (either a Panasonic GM1 or a Canon P&S with hacked firmware.)

The site has questionable reviews :

Also there was an earlier thread on rdf about the same company selling these cams. As far as I remember, everyone's order was cancelled and their PayPal info was released.

I would personally avoid them.

Reason for Edit: added link on RFD citing members all having orders cancelled

Forget this retailer....its basically the same price from ******** [+6.5% Cashback w/ Givingassistant], & Geekbuying. They are authorized resellers.

Here's my previous price tracking thread:

Here's my full review from 8 months ago (Includes English Translations for the menu).
It's gone through -30c upto +38c so far, and absolutely no issues with overheating, out of focus etc. Working perfectly fine still.

I recommend people do their research on lightinthebox website. Many many posts about stolen identities and credit card.

Anyone have any idea if XIaomi will be releasing a version2 anytime soon?

Love their products, and specs, functions, and video quality of this DVR. But I would prefer a much smaller 'form' factor instead of a large rectangular box. Don't really have much use for the large(r) lcd screen for my use.
