Limping cat

A relative has a 6 yr old male cat, indoor/outdoor. It recently started limping on the front right foot. No broken nails, no blood on paws, no cuts, swelling or visible pain around the foot and shoulder.
They are retired and apprehensive that a vet will charge hundreds of dollars, and tell them the cat has a sprained foot.
Any suggestions?

You need to get X-rays for the cat could be a fracture!

6 years old is a young cat, they don't show their pain

Your relatives are very selfish irresponsible pet owners

This cat is suffering, you can't make a medical diagnosis without an X-ray Or blood test!!

At least go for an office visit and let the vet check him out
