Hi guys I have a linksys router WRT54G, bought it 6 months back and was working fine but just stopped working few days back I tried to flash the firmware what not but no luck whatsoever.
It turns on, the wireless signal is there but when I goto admin page it shows no IP and I cant connect to the internet. Checked the internet connecting the modem to pc directly and I do get an IP.
Any ideas?![]()

Does the power light flash non stop? If so it was a bad firmware flash, there's was to fix it, just use Google.

Guys it worked okay since March then a few days back my laptop didnt have internet connection so I called my ISP Rogers and they said it shows that their modem gets an IP. Its just that the router doesnt accept the IP.
The lights are not flashing. On my laptop it shows me the wireless network..but there is no internet.

Reset the router by putting a paperclip in a small hole on the back, reconfigure your dsl settings and if that dosn't work buy a new one.

Hold the reset button for 30sec. This restores default settings. Reenter the ISP settings and try again.

Unplug the power cable to your cable modem, then wait 10 seconds and plug it back in.
Attach a network cable from the cable model to the wan port of the linksys router.
Log into the web admin pages and release/renew the wan ip.
Then test your wireless connection._______________

Did you try the suggestion in post #6? Its sure to work.
One second thought, borrow or buy another router and try it just to rule out anything else.Last edited by hagbard; Nov 23rd, 2007 at 12:24 AM.
