[Loblaws] PC Plus Redemption Event - June 29 and 30 - (Up to 20% Back)

So I work cash at Loblaws, and it was posted on our internal employee board that we're having an PC Points redemption event this coming Thursday, June 29th and Friday, June 30th. I'm located in the GTA, and this should go public on the next flyer so keep your eyes open.

The promotion is as follows:
If you redeem 50,000 points or more, you get 5,000 points back.
If you redeem 100,000 points or more, you get 15,000 points back.
If you redeem 150,000 points or more, you get 30,000 points back.
Only one points offer per transaction, and it cannot be stacked/combined with any other offer.
Points cannot be redeemed for Gift Cards.

EDIT 1 (June 28): The flyer has been posted and the deal is valid Zehrs, Loblaws, Atlantic Superstore, Dominion, Valumart, Provigo, Provigo Le Marche, and Your Independent Grocer.

As far as I know, it's only Loblaws. You're going to have to wait until Wednesday when they post the flyers. The last time this happened it included Zehrs, so Zehrs might be having this event as well.

Loblaws dont have electronics, do they? Might be a great time to redeem 300K from TMS 300K points deal.

I've got 110k but never redeemed yet. The removal of gift cards sucks.

Any tips on spending the points on alternatives to gift cards?

Also in what amounts can they be redeemed?

AFAIK, you can redeem it by 10's: $10,$20,$30 and so on. Any remaining amount has to be paid separately.

Yes, we do! We have TVs, and a few random electronics. They're normally found in either customer service or the general merchandise section in the middle of the store.

You can redeem at 20,000 points, and then in 10,000 point increments from then on.
You could redeem the points on groceries, or whatever you need. They also can't be used for alcohol, so if you have alcohol in your purchase, our system won't let you redeem points on that.

I see a lot of ppl saying you can't use points for gift cards, but it's kinda not true. You CANT just flat out buy them anymore but there is a workaround so you cans till do it. If you spend the same amount of $ on groceries then they allow you to buy that same amount in gift cards.

eg: $100 in groceries and they allow you to buy a $100 gift card. $25 ->$25, $50->$50 it all works.

Myself and my wife have been doing this since they changed the policy with 0 issues, we tend to buy cineplex gc's but have bought a lot of others as well (bought 4x$25 amazon giftcard's 4 days ago).

Just thought id give a heads up to all the PC points into GC lovers like ourselves out there. =D

So you're saying that you bought $100 in groceries plus $100 in amazing gift cards and redeemed for $200 of pc points?

Can someone comment if the workaround is to buy gift cards with pc points through self checkout? Does it work or no?

Thanks, at least this is an option. Can I buy a $150 electronic and then buy $150 gift cards and return the electronics?

It didn't work for me a few months ago at the self checkout. I started buying gift cards for almost the same amount as my groceries and then. So buy $50 of groceries and a $50 gift card then redeem $50 worth of points. I still have to pay $50 but I'd be doing that anyway for the groceries. So it looks like I'm using points for groceries and buying the gift card.

Too bad not out west yet. Wish they tested this out in a smaller market like BC first haha.
