It's the expectation of free stuff that sets them apart ...

This is not really a deal.. Why not just buy a Canada flag from the dollar store? Stop wasting tax payer money.

If they have it already, you've already paid for it.

Except if you knew how government budgets work...

Each year they are assigned a budget. If they don't use it all, they get less next year. So they always find some excuse to use all budget to request more budget next year.

You drain their flag budget they make higher budget for more flag distribution next year. It never stops....

Dear MP

I am contacting you to inquire about a 3'x6' Canadian Flag you are giving for free.
Up until today I never thought about getting one, but my fellow RFDers peered pressured me into requesting one.
Please mail the flag to me at your own expense, as we are a group of cheapos that will complain if we have to put minimum effort in getting something, even if it's something as simple as writing a letter.

Regards,
June 12 Flag Requestor #2386

Well after paying bills all other monies go to taxes so I am a non- profit!

That's one less dollar that can be spent on a Loon Lager though :(

I contacted the local MP for congratulatory letter for becoming Canadian Citizen. MP's assistant personally dropped it off at my home :)

Will ask for the flag as well.

This probably should just go in the Freebies section. This isn't any sort of "hot deal."
It was always there, and a lot of times they don't even have any to give to you... Super YMMV.
