Tried this once. They said they didn't have any to give out. I live in a fairly rural area and doubt they get many requests. Guess they couldn't be bothered to look into getting me one.

What exactly makes it authentic?
My understandings are the dimensions have to be correct -- that is, 2 to 1 width to height ratio. In this case, the flag has proper dimensions. I'd imagine that proper colour is also important.

My understanding, at least a while back, that many US flags were NOT manufactured in the US for "official business" due to dimensions not being proper. US is 2 to 1 or 5 to 3 (width to height).

And that's a good thing. Uncritical nationalism is cancer. Maybe if they were less "patriotic," the Iraq War would have never happened.

I don't know if everyone here remembers the "red scare" after 9/11 happened, and how very different it was from the years preceding where nationalism was waning.

I disagree. Displaying a Canadian flag is a good thing - if you love your country. If you don't then you need to rethink what you're doing here.

I remember getting a large sized free flag about 15 years ago from the government. I gave it to the senior partner at a firm I was working at because he mentioned something about not having a flag. Now is my chance to get another flag. Smiling Face With Open Mouth
