Thanks, but it looks like there's some issues with the flickering after a bit of use. Any thoughts?

Benq Asus Acer.... and most monitor companies have 3 year warranty on their monitors. Samsung and LG seem to only have 1yr.
I was recently in the market for a new monitor and this completely deterred me from Samsung and LG.

I have this monitor. Been using it for almost a yr now. I game heavily and havent had any real problems with it.

Good for movies, not so good for netflix. Prepare for black bars if what your watching is not wide screen.

I don't think that actually stresses the monitor any more than someone who uses it for productivity work...or does it?

i have the 29UC88-B and i love the form factor but do remember that its the same size as a stretched out 23 inch panel so you wont be gaining vertical space. Great for watching movies since there are no horizontal bars but you will have vertical bars for anything 16:9. My panel has a bit of bleed on the top right edge but nothing too major

I have a 34" version, perfect monitor. The only weird issue is when the monitor comes out of sleep after a long time, overnight for instance. It flickers black for a couple seconds after about 10 minutes of use and then it's fine for the rest of the day.

Depending on what platform/content provider you use, Chrome has an extension to make ultrawide movies fill the screen when they are letterboxed into 16:9. To get the best resolution I can from Netflix on safari I usually use the ctrl+scroll shortcut to make the movie fill the screen.

I picked this monitor up in march '16, never an issue running in my home office 5+ hours a day (with regular home use as well). I pad $349 on sale from Best Buy at the time, so great price!!
