[London Drugs] RCA 1080P Home Theater Projector - RPJ116

This isn't a "HOT DEAL" but might be interesting to some peeps who want a cheap projector for the back yard for late night movies. Or a Call of Duty Black Ops midnight session on the side of your garage with your buddies. 2000 lumens is decent but I can't find anything on contrast ratio. Once again, this is probably a POS but for $99, eh. The one thing I will point out though is with LD, they have a 1 year exchange unlike other stores that offer a 90 day warranty.

Project a 30 to 150 inch image in the comfort of your home or backyard.
Immerse yourself in razor sharp images with vivid true-to-life colours.
Estimated 50,000 hour lamp life or 5.7 years with 24 hours a day viewing.
Built-in stereo speakers with HDMI, audio/video, USB, microSD card slot and VGA input.
Includes remote control and AC power adapter.
One year exchange warranty.

Picked one of these up a few weeks ago on clearance for $50. As far as I can tell it is the same projector as the popular MPow projector from Amazon. It's a perfectly adequate $50 toy. It's bright enough for an 80 inch projection. You will struggle with brightness if you go much larger. The fan is quite loud, but tolerable except in really quiet scenes. The biggest weakness for me is the limited keystone correction. You need to have the projector sitting quite high. The manual claims 15 degrees of correction, but I doubt it's even that much. Pair it with a $25 screen from Amazon, and you will keep the kids happy with outdoor movies on the cheap.

Ok, after a quick search, the $50 cdn ones are 320x240.

After a 5 minute search, I found a 800x480 for $60US ($75 cdn) , but link includes $6 worth of discount coupons, bringing it down to $54US ($70 cdn). I won't be suprised if you go through a more detailed/thorough search on aliexpress/online if you're serious , to find cheaper projectors, coupons,etc...

From the RCSS no tax thread

People on slickdeals managed to get it as low as $15 USD on WM clearance earlier this year.

Fair value for these are nothing past $50 so at $100 all in I would stay away.
$50 is a meh price for it.
<$30 is a deal.
2000 lumens is a straight face lie (check the YT reviews, the real ones not the ones with the affiliated links, to how see miserable these projectors performs with any ambient light).
These are toy projectors (middle school science project level) look for disassembly videos/instructions online to see how its built.
Furthermore its $100 no tax at RCSS today.

You don't need to go overseas for this price.
$80 is more of a regular price on amazon, taxes and local delivery in and you get 30 days of amazon return policy to back you up.

If you keep an eye on them you can do even better, the one linked above was $73 last couple of lightening deals (July 13, July 17).
I got mine for $35 (also from amazon) and there was a thread here when amazon was clearing one seller's stock for $16.

I bought GooBangDoo projector off Amazon for $169. Works awesome, projecting 100" image outside in my back yard. Nice and bright, plays movies off USB stick. Would recommend as an alternative

720p native resolution 135.00 right now.
I wouldnt go for it anyway but might be worth considering.
I have to dislike it just because the fact they are hiding how it is native resolution and then they just put maximum resolution is just outright misleading
im waiting myself to be able to get a optoma or Epson 720p for 250.00 to 300.00
