Long-term Parking - Flying Out of Hamilton Airport

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are flying out of Hamilton airport with Swoop airlines (prayers welcome), and will be away for three weeks! I live in Toronto. I was hoping to drive to Hamilton and park at the Hamilton airport. They used to have decent monthly parking rates there. But I checked their website yesterday, and it looks like the monthly parking rates are gone. Parking is $65/week, and if I am understanding the website correctly, they charge $15/day for every day you go past a week, which could end up close to $300 in parking! It's steep!

Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems like there is no inexpensive off-site parking for Hamilton airport! Are there other good parking garages with monthly fees that I can park at and then uber to the airport? Any websites that may offer cheaper parking options?

If not, does anyone have suggestions as to the cheapest way for me to get to the airport and back? I am open to public transportation/uber/lyft/shuttle, if it is going to cost much less, but keep in mind that if I don't drive, I would have to pay for parking somewhere in Toronto for about $50-75/month.

Go Train to Hamilton and Uber from there?
I thought about this, but still not so cheap. I called Hamilton Airport, they charge weekly parking at $65, so for three weeks and two days, I will have to pay $225 + $10 gas = $235 or so.

With Go train to Hamilton for two people, it would be:
Transit within Toronto: $12 (return trip, two times 6)
Parking in Toronto: $75
Go Train Union Station Toronto to Hamilton GO: $49.60 ($24.80 times two for return trip)
Uber from Hamilton Go to Airport: $44 (return trip)

Add it all together, it's $180. It's hardly worth the inconvenience and hours of time spent in transit, particularly considering that I fly back into Hamilton at 5:15am.

The best option I can think of is driving to an affordable parking (under $100/month) close to Hamilton airport, and then Uber from there. But I can't find any such parking. I've also heard there may be affordable transit option from Toronto Airport to Hamilton Airport? Does anyone know of any?

Kinda curious if you've found anything out in terms of a solution.

Here is what I did so far... Opened google map, found a towing company next to the airport, gave them a call. negotiated the price (agreed to $60 for 10 days) and they are open 24hrs. Uber one way from there is about $15 one way. so it comes to $90 vs $110 at the airport.
I'm still looking for lower cost option

And Just another Idea... park at the airport. call Uber to the automated gate. Take the ticket and cancel the ride. pay for 1/2hr parking, get out. total cost $11.50 for any length of stay.

Hey, Andrey, can you tell more about your last idea? I don't quite get what role Uber plays in it?

If you live in Toronto, why are you paying $75 for parking?

You could save $44 by taking the HSR bus from Hamilton GO to the Airport.

You've pretty much sorted out all your options unless you can find some kind soul to let you park at their place. At this point, the price difference is small enough that I'd go with whatever is most convenient/relaxing for you.

Hey all, I thought I had posted an update here, but I must have done so in my head only.

I did find a great alternative. I parked my car at Airport Mini Storage in Mount Hope very close to the airport. They charged less than $50/month, although I can't remember the exact figure (may have been 45). It's a nice family-run business. Less than $10 Uber ride to airport from there. It's outdoor parking, and very limited space, so book ahead. You have the option of leaving your keys with them (so they can move your car out for you if you are coming back at an hour they are closed) or you can keep your car keys and make sure you return to pick it up during their office hours.

In any case, this was a much much cheaper option than parking at Hamilton Airport, and I'd do it again.

New option for Hamilton flyers:

Thanks for sharing. But only one return trip per day? I'm afraid it might get cancelled fairly quickly when few people find it useful.
