You're comparing apples and oranges. These two cards are marketed for the multimedia segment, NOT the gaming segment. Therefore you can't compare gaming performance on that regard. The AIW2006 offers alot more features and a big software bundle compared to the AIW9600XT. I won't list them, but you can easily look up the product specs on your own. And you can't compare the retail price of an AIW9600XT from just any store to what Compusmart charges. Who's to say Compusmart didn't sell the AIW9600XT for $275?? Well that doesn't matter, because the AIW2006 can be had for $200 here:

Look at this rip off!
The ALL-IN-WONDER 9600XT doesn't seem to be sold anymore brand new in stores. Last time I saw it new in the store was at $200. However looking up compusmart.com; the ALL-IN-WONDER 2006 Edition is selling for $300 http://www.compusmart.com/Product/De...rPartNo=557083
The ALL-IN-WONDER 2006 is nothing more than a repackaging of the ALL-IN-WONDER 9600 regular/standard. The ALL-IN-WONDER 9600XT has almost twice the performance of the ALL-IN-WONDER 9600/ALL-IN-WONDER 2006
Just go here http://apps.ati.com/ATIcompare/ and compare the ALL-IN-WONDER 2006 with the ALL-IN-WONDER 9600XT and you'll see. Don't be confused by the PCI-Express version of the ALL-IN-WONDER 2006, it's based on a much more advanced chip to begin with. Compare all 3 cards and you'll see what I mean._______________

well there are people that don't know this...
Maybe you're more up to date than most but there are lots of people that don't have a clue about this. Old news or not doesn't really matter I mean I don't think there's a rule against posting old news. Again I posted this because I didn't find a package difference between the AIW 9600XT and AIW 2006 AGP according to the ATI website and retail websites. Are you sure the large software package you're thinking of is not the AIW 2006 PCI-Express version? It has the X1300 chip.

Apr 6th, 2006 02:28 PM #7No, you didn't find any hardware spec differences according to your first post. I was talking about the features and software titles - you get more features and functionality with the devices you are able to connect directly into the card, from dvd players to even camcorders now, and the ability to edit the content from them. You get a bigger and better software bundle. It's more versatile and you can edit more content than before with the amount of various AV editing software and studio type software titles that are included.

Anyway, I never said anything was old news... i simply just said you can't take the price of what the AIW9600 was last going for from whatever store, and compare it to what Compusmart charges for another product. As for people not having a clue about it - well it's their own fault for not shopping around for the lowest price.Last edited by Cafe_333; Apr 6th, 2006 at 02:32 PM.

The All-In-Wonder card is not something new.
