Looking For: best value on dry-loop internet in Ottawa?
I need small package high-speed internet for my mother - something like 2mb/800kb and 25gb bandwidth.
With TekSavvy now at $24.99/mo for internet, and $23.99 for home phone.
I want to drop the home phone so I can get her VOIP + freephoneline.ca. I just got hooked up with voip + freephoneline and now I have free home phone. Don't see any reason to be paying a monthly fee for home phone anymore.
But if I drop home phone, TekSavvy wants $50 internet installation + $20 dryloop installation. Then monthly will be $24.99/mo + $10/mo dryloop fee for internet.
But a friend is using and suggested http://web.aei.ca/english.shtml - 6mb/800kb/100gb for $28.95 + $10 dryloop + $50 setup. So setup would be $20 less than TekSavvy, and for $3 more, considerably faster internet with much more bandwidth.
But still comes out to about $44.00/mo with tax. Anyone know of smaller packages, or how to avoid dryloop fee? Was looking at cable internet, but for the $25/mo packages, download is 3mb/sec but the upload is only like 256kb which might be too slow for skype and voip.
