Looking to buy a g35 in the gta area, need advice.
hey folks, i'm looking to buy a g35 around the gta area.
coming from windsor, there are not to many g35's down here for sale.
I looked in private ads and dealer ads and most of them are in the gta area.
I was looking at some private and i seen only one i liked.
there is also alot of g35's that i like but are being sold at used car dealerships.
the infiniti dealerships has some good ones but are a little too much for my budget. I was wondering if you guys know what used car dealerships that are good and not shady? I was looking at malibu motors and canadian fine motors anybody have feedback on those dealerships? thanks in advance.

I would strongly recommend you stroll into an Infiniti dealership and give haggling a go. Nissan/Infiniti tends to grossly inflate their sticker prices but are quite willing to chop them down if you look serious. To give you an example way back a few years ago when I bought my first g35C I was able to take 7k off the sticker price for a used one.
Honestly I don't like large volume used car lots. They don't know their inventory, often cars are sold without history and the warranties that they provide are prone to disintegrate by the time you walk off the lot.
Go get one privately, next best thing.

i have had really good luck with private sales..i am a strong believer of used car...
i recently got a 2004 Z4 Fully loaded Sport / Premium 3.0i Auto for 23,000 with 40k km...
When i met the guy and saw the car.. i said i will take it haha.
Pick a trust worthy seller...

if thats the case, i might try that. what's ur method of gaining a discount like this? in the other hand , what do u guys think about used dealerships bringing US cars over and selling them?, i know most of these used dealerships are doing this with these quality import cars.

In that case you should go buy it used in the US and import it yourself. Used cars are much easier to import than new.

Method? Depends on dealer, time of day, any trade-in etc etc. Go to an Infiniti dealer (the one here in Scarborough is not bad). Find a car you like, test drive it, sit down with dealer and discuss.
Ahead of time you should do some research i.e. go to autotrader and black book (CAA) and get the average values of cars that are being sold privately or through dealers. Present this info to the dealer when negotiating. You should be prepared to finalize the deal on the spot and indicate this to the dealer.
Trade-ins may or may not help you depending on what you're trading in (especially if it's non-nissan).
It's not hard, whatever you do, please don't put a deposit on a car before you've fully negotiated on price. Some dealers will often try to force you into this before you've sat down on the table.

I would recommend against Canadian Fine Motors. Or at least approach them with EXTREME caution. Late last year I attempted to purchase a used Audi that they had in stock. Not going to get into the details, but suffice to say it was your sterotypical sleezy no-holds barred attempt at a sale from them. The "owner" is a real piece of work.
But, if they have the car you want, and you get it for the price you want, then it really makes no difference how good the purchasing experience was.

go click on this link
http://www.carpages.ca/used/2001/Lex...Ontario/141916
and if you google the VIN number of this Lexus, the car is reported stolen.
I don't trust those used care warehouse. Certified used from dealer is pretty good.

buyers beware
Don't go to Canadian Fine Motors! A few years ago i bought a '99 honda civic hatchback from them...they did not disclose that it was on a previous accident. I had to get the body re-welded and lots of body work done from poor repair/overspray job they did, and now it's a rustbucket.

I hate this line "is still a Nissan". Nissan makes generally very reliable cars (source: Consumer Reports). There are lots of Mercedes-Benz owners who are
cocky with their "it's still just a Nissan/Toyota" line, yet in Germany, many Benz are used for taxis. Companies can rebrand themselves in another market to create the impression all their cars are high-end, top of the line.
In the case of BMW, I do think they make great cars, probably the best performing cars amongst entry-level luxury brands. However, many people who use the line "it's a BMW, not a Nissan" are buying it for the image, though I do think BMW's great reputation is well-deserved.

thanks for the reply, like i said i was looking at G35, when i said its a nissan, what i meant was donn't over pay for the brand name infinite, i would pay for a ultima instead, sure i would get less features but i could live with that..
i think the nissan have a great lineup but when it comes to the G35 myself and others think its over price in the used market,..
as for me getting the bmw it was a better buy for the money and performance, i was thinking about a 99 M3 but why pay that kind of money when i can get a newer car for the same or less.
as for what car he gets donnt matter to me at all, just dont over pay for the name.. a lot people are asking $16k and up for my car, i paid less than $16k with tax and everything on the road new plates two yr stickers and some more..
thanks

Ultima (think you meant ALtima) is not the Nissan clone of the G35. Altima is an american/mexican car built with a FWD platform for the N.America market; similar to the Honda Accord.
The only clone of the G35 wearing a Nissan badge is the Nissan Skyline V35 which is only available in Japan. The closest twin it has is the Nissan 350Z for the G35 Coupe NOT the Sedan. If you didn't want to pay to get the luxury features (which the G35 has over the 350Z); you should've looked at a 350Z for price comparision instead of an Altima. 350Z are priced only slightly less than G35C. In terms of the sedan; it has no twins beside the V35 Skyline.
The G35 is not overpriced; it is underpriced. The vehicle costed 50k brand new and you can pick up a 4 year old one for 16k. That is not being over priced; that is horrible resale value; lol. I have seen Accords/Camry more expensive than a 4 year old luxury car. Us G35 Owners are getting raped when we sell our cars and it is funny people are complaining about the price...
Enjoy your BMW; seems like you would have probably doubted your purchase with a G35 so good choice.

sounds like your arguing, how a 350z gets in i dont know, i was only looking at the 4d sedan maybe with the M package i think 6sp, i'll say it again i like the car but its not just me thats saying over priced, so far you havent bothered to find out what i think over price for the car is,. but hey everyone wants top dollar for the resale of their car and i dont blame them but to attack me without knowing how much i think over price is,.
come on, i have a 02 Z24 whats that worth dont here me crying about getting rape, i know your G35 should have better resale than mine but am not crying its the way things are.. why would i doubt myself if got a g35,.. like i said for the price and everything else the car was worth it,. would i buy a 04 g35 good condition for around 16k yes but you go find one, i sent more time looking for a g35 with good mileage and condition than any of the other cars i looked at but by chance or luck i went with the bmw it had nothing to do with brand..
how are you comparing a two seat with a four seat,.. i'll say it again i like the g35 i wanted one. i dont judge people by the car they dirve so dont judge me, i drive a z24 and a bmw, what dose that say about me?. to me i think nothing but thats just me..
i'll say this, i've read here a few times, your car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it, is that bad or good thing i dont know, all i know is our Pacifica is worth alot less than it did a year ago by half, am i going to cry and be rude to someone about it no, the market spoke and we have to live with it thats all to it.
thanks
