Looking to buy led strip for computer setup

Hey guys ,
Hope someone will have an answer for this. I am looking to buy some led strips to use to light up my computer table ( going around table , behind monitor and speakers, possibly inside case) .
I was looking at the various options and sellers. I have checked Aliexpress and Bangood.
Anyone have an opinion on what kind of LED to buy, 5050 or 2835? Will 5m be enough.
The 5050 is selling for 12.87

The 2835 for 10.00

Bangood has 3528 for 11.52

Thank you .

5050 and 2835 are completely different, the best way to look at it is that 2835 are usually three different LED colours individually mixed together into the same strip, while 5050 are actual RGB coloured LEDs.

5050 Generally considered much better for setting tone because the colours are more solid and not blends together. 2835 are generally for lighting where you actually need it to help you see since it is brighter.

Length is never going to be clear but 5m is a good place to start. You can always order another to add to it later.

The number really just refer to the size of the chip. 5050 = 50mm X 50mm, 2835 = 28mm X 35mm, 3528 = 35mm X 28mm, etc... but these chips aren't necessarily getting smaller with each new version and can get confusing. 3528 is the oldest out of the 3 chips listed.

In terms of differences, 2835 is much brighter than 5050 (about 50% brighter), but it doesn't mean you need 2835. For mood lighting, 5050 is fine. I would skip the 3528, both the 2835 and 5050 are 300% to 400% brighter. What's more important is how many LED per meter:

30/m is good, but 60/m gives a smoother line. For inside a PC, I would recommend going to 144/m or make/buy a diffuser, otherwise it looks light you put up Christmas light in your PC.

So out of the links, I would choose the 2nd one. Definitely avoid the 3rd one.

Also, if you want a true white and have the ability to change it to different colors, you won't get it from RGB strips. White on RGB strips tend to have a bluish tint. You need to pick up RGBW (cool white) or RGBWW (warm white) that has a dedicated forth light just for white.

Tried the cheap ones and they end up being garbage. They fail, they're white isn't really white, they have bad soldering, etc.

And you end up buying another set.

Just start with these:

They're a bit more, but the quality of the LED's and brightness doesn't come close to well known brands out there. I have 2 19" RGB and they are bright. And colors are spot on.
