Looking For Cheap Travel to NYC from Toronto (and back)
I'm looking for car rental, train, bus, or plane. Leaving late Feb 17th or early on the 18th, and coming back on the 21st.
this is what I've got so far:
Greyhound: $190
Via Rail (w/ ISIC card): $219
AMTrack: $186
Jet Blue (to/from Buffalo): $205 USD
anyone know of a cheaper way?

yup. I was hoping there'd be some sort of deal where if you have 2 people, the second one rides for free, but there isn't.

I'm looking for this too - I think the cost for leaving by flight from Toronto is just under $400....
If you choose the Buffalo option, you have to factor in a bus cost to get there, or parking cost to leave your car at the airport.

drive it if you have a car. I can get to nyc from north york in like 8 hours
gas is a bit cheaper in the states too, particularly in New Jersey. Hint fill up before you hit the big apple.
theres a coupon for parking on the buffalo airport site

I do have a car, but the last time I drove, I blew a tire. Bloody thing cost more than a round trip ticket on the bus. Frankly, it wasn't worth it.

The roundtrip ticket price from YYZ-NYC is ridiculous. It is usually a little less than USD300 while the NYC-BUF trip only costs around USD150...With USD300, you can fly a roundtrip from NYC-LAX.

Hey you could try a posting on Craigslist asking for a hop aboard anyone that might be driving down, of course you could arrange to split gas with them and perhaps (on your own accord) arrange to meetup with them beforehand to acknowledge you aren't a bum.
